The first coins at the mint of Sweden were struck more than a thousand years ago, in 995.
The production of euros, which was started in 1998, has provided the foundation for The Mint of Finland’s development, technological knowhow and internationalisation. Circulation coins are an important export item for The Mint of Finland.
